Test of simultaneous and differential diagnosis in humans and animals of the three pathological types of leishmaniasis
Project 561
Problem to be solved
-
Nonspecific, expensive and time-consuming diagnosis in humans and dogs.
Proposed innovation
-
Biosensor device for simultaneous and differential immunologic diagnosis in a single step, containing marker molecules for each of the three types of inflammatory diseases (visceral leishmaniasis, cutaneous leishmaniasis and leishmaniasis caused by Leishmania braziliensis – mista).
Differential
- Does not present cross-reaction with Trypanossoma cruzi.
- Fast and specific diagnosis, with low production cost, improving the quality of life due to the agility in pre-diagnosis and diagnosis.
Stage of development
-
Laboratory prototype
